Branded App Setup: From Brand Assets to App Store Live

What we need from you, what we do on our end, and what to expect during Apple/Google review.

Last updated: 6 min read

The Branded App plan ships you a real native iOS + Android app under your restaurant's name. Live in 5–7 days from when we receive your brand assets. Submission and store review are handled entirely by Eatsy — there's no Apple/Google account on your side.

What we need from you

  1. Logo files — vector (SVG, AI, or EPS) preferred. PNG with transparent background as fallback. We need both square (for app icon) and wide (for splash screens).
  2. Brand colors — hex codes for primary, secondary, and accent. Note: never #FFFFFF as your contrast color.
  3. Brand fonts — name + license info, or pick from our supported set (Montserrat, Poppins, Inter, etc.).
  4. App name — exactly how it should appear in the App Store. Most operators use their restaurant name.
  5. App description — 1 short (80 chars) and 1 long (4000 chars). We can draft if you provide a brief.
  6. Photos — for splash screens and feature graphics. Real food photos preferred over stock.

What we do

  • Build the native app with your brand
  • Wire up your menu, loyalty, push notifications, and delivery routing
  • Submit to Apple App Store and Google Play
  • Handle any Apple/Google review feedback

Apple App Store review

Typically 3–7 days. Apple reviews more strictly than Google — they check the app actually works, looks polished, and follows their UX guidelines. We've shipped many apps and rejection is rare. When it happens, the most common reasons:

  • Privacy policy URL missing or broken
  • Login flow buggy
  • App crashes during review

We fix and resubmit. Adds 1–3 days.

Google Play Store review

Typically 1–3 days. Google is faster and less strict.

Don't wait to start marketing

The app shows up in App Store search the day it goes live. But customers don't know to search for it unless you tell them. Plan a launch announcement (email, social, in-store signage) for the day after Apple/Google approval. Once your app is live, paste the App Store and Google Play URLs in Channels → Brand config → App Download Links so your Microsite shows download badges.

What customers see

When customers search the App Store or Google Play for your restaurant name, your app appears. They tap install, the app opens to a welcome screen with your logo, they pick EN or ES, browse your menu, order. Loyalty status, push notifications, and order history are all in your branded experience.

After launch

  • Push notifications: configure in your dashboard — see Push Notifications guide
  • Loyalty integration: visible to app users at checkout — see Loyalty Program Design
  • Updates: we push app updates as needed for new platform features. Zero work on your end.
